Important: Change of Name

On the 1st October 2016 Dudley Arts Council gained permission from the Charity Commission to change its name to the :-

Black Country Arts Council

Over the last six years more and more of our members have come from across the Black Country and beyond.

At an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of the Council held on the 14th September 2016 the members present voted overwhelmingly to proceed with the change of name which has now been approved by the Charity Commission.

Our Charity number remains the same and access to our website also remains the same for all members and membership organisations.

Dudley Arts Council, now called the Black Country Arts Council,  is a charitable organisation which has been in existence for over 70 years.

The organisation is run by Trustees and volunteers with the aim of ...

"... encouraging involvement in and an appreciation of the arts and to raise awareness of arts organisations based in the Dudley borough, the Black Country and the West Midlands."

Over the coming weeks and months the Trustees will be applying for funding to expand our activities and reach out further across the Black Country and beyond.

These are exciting times for the Trustees and the organisation so please consider joining us by completing our online application. It's totally free and your application will be processed as soon as possible.

Thank you for visiting our website and hope you will join with us as we grow and develop over the coming years.

What's membership all about?

Any arts group within the area can become a member of the Black Country Arts Council at no cost at all.

Before you go any further, take a look at the short video below to show you how to join.

Members can then publicize their events through this web site, and announce their news to the thousands of people who use our website service as a reference point for arts events taking place in the area.

We currently have over 200 member groups from the areas of Dance, Theatre, Photography, Music, Film and Visual Arts.

In a nutshell, this is what members gain from being a part of the organisation.

  • Information sharing and physical sharing of resources, props, cast members, instruments, premises
  • A vibrant network of like-minded people
  • Exposure to thousands of potential event attendees
  • Training workshops
  • A forum through which issues both within the borough and outside can be voiced and acted upon

Why not apply to join now?
