Backstage Training session - Saturday September 17th 

Thanks for coming!

We ran two identical Back Stage workshops for Dudley Arts Council members at Stourbridge Town Hall on Saturday 17th September 2011 (at 9.30am and 1.30pm), with each one covering:

- Setting, hanging, and focusing lamps
- Moving scenery
- Working safely with ladders
- Flying cloths and scenery and how to tie off ropes safely
- Risk Assessment on the stage

TRAINING AND REGISTRATION TO BE A REGISTERED CHAPERONE

Registration

Any adult (male or female) may apply to Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council to be registered as a Chaperone.

The Local Authority shall not approve a Chaperone unless satisfied that she/he can exercise proper care and control of the child/ren, and that she/he will not be prevented from carrying out his/her duties as a Chaperone by other duties.

The criteria for approval to be a registered Chaperone with Dudley MBC are:

  • Receipt of a completed application form. [ download form ]
  • Submission of two references.
  • Attendance at an interview (Appointments will be made at the Licensing Authority's discretion, in line with the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy).

If successful at interview the following training and clearance will be carried out:

  • Application for an 'Enhanced' Disclosure obtained from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). (this will need to be applied for even if the applicant has a current certificate).
  • Completion of Dudley MBC Chaperone Training Course.

 

Within the first year of approval

ALL CHAPERONES MUST COMPLETE DUDLEY SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN TRAINING – LEVEL 1 (BASIC AWARENESS)

EITHER BY ATTENDANCE AT COURSE (arranged by Dudley Safeguarding Children Board)

OR

ON-LINE CHILD PROTECTION BASIC AWARENESS TRAINING
